Smith & Wesson Model 100P Long Chain Handcuffs are the push-pin double-lock version of the Model 100, built with an 8-inch chain instead of the standard short links. Measured across the connecting rings, the cuffs sit about 10 inches apart. That extra reach is the point of this model: it is easier to apply behind the back when a subject cannot bring both hands together, and the chain is also long enough to secure a briefcase or similar item to the wrist.
The bows are nickel-plated carbon steel with Smith & Wesson’s satin nickel finish. The plating is dull rather than polished, so the cuffs are less reflective and easier to grip. Each cuff uses a push-pin double lock on the edge where the single strand swings through. Push the pin on the key into the lock until it clicks. Once double-locked, the ratchet will not tighten further.
