National Handcuff Day is coming February 20th! See the website for more information.
Safariland has released their new versions of Hiatt Model 2103 and 2105 Speedcuffs, Hiatt Models UL1 and UL5 Ultimate Handcuffs, and Hiatt Model 3103 and 3105 Lightweight Handcuffs. They are essentially identical to the Hiatt models with the Safariland name. ASP Triple Pawl Lightweight Chain Handcuffs are now in stock. Smith & Wesson Cutaway Handcuffs demonstrate how handcuffs work. Factory made by S&W. ASP acrylic handcuff display display your favorite handcuffs with the only Acrylic Handcuff Display on the market. The long awaited ASP Rigid Handcuffs are now in stock. We have the standard ASP rigid handcuffs, ASP rigid high security handcuffs and the ASP rigid lightweight high security handcuffs in stock now. The new ASP rigid handcuffs are very similar to the Hiatt Ultimate handcuffs. They are hinged handcuffs that lock in the open position when unfolded. The hinged can then be released using a handcuff key. Jersey Cuffs from Jersey Tactical are now in stock. They are a new compact double cuff that can be tightened by pulling a single strap. Cobra Cuff disposable restraints are now in stock. Cobra cuffs come prefolded and have a built in pull tab. They also have built in double locks. Just push in tabs at each side to double lock. Strong: made from thick nylon straps. Available in black or a blue reuseable training model. New from ASP: High Security Handcuffs. The special 2 pawl double bit key will unlock all standard keys will not unlock the two pawl lock set. Can be identified by the blue double locks. Also available in a Hinged version and a Lightweight Chain version. Also New from ASP: hinged and Chain stainless steel handcuffs with three part pawl for higher security. The pawl is the part that engages the teeth of the swinging bow of the handcuff. Making it with 3 independently operating sections makes the handcuffs more resistant to shimming. ASP calls them European style. Hiatt (now Safariland) has been using this feature for years and triple pawls are required by some European agencies. Green double locks differentiate these from standard ASP handcuffs. They use standard keys and operate just like other ASP handcuffs. Smith & Wesson recently introduced their long anticipated M&P lever lock handcuffs. They are standard S&W Model 100s, but with finger activated double locks. Other manufacturers have had problems with finger activated double locks in that they can be accidentally activated too easily. S&W has solved the problem with levers that move away from the direction in which you're cuffing so the lever won't accidentally be engaged. Available in nickel or Melonite. The Hiatt Handcuffs brand has been discontinued. Hiatt Handcuffs in England was acquired by American company Armor Holdings in 2006. Armor Holdings was then acquired by British company BAE Systems. The Hiatt factory in Birmingham, England was closed in late June, 2008. BAE has moved the Hiatt factory to New Hampshire and will be making the Hiatt handcuff line under the Safariland brand. They will also consolidate all other restraints made by BAE companies under the Safariland brand. This includes Monadnock disposable restraints and NIK Flex-Cufs. Availability of Hiatt products is limited to stock on hand. The new Safariland handcuffs will be introduced through 2009. Hiatt-Thompson Corporation was the sole distributor for Hiatt in North America. They are no longer affiliated with Hiatt or BAE Systems. They will continue to make their own line of popular colored handcuffs and leg irons and a new line of cuffs that are very similar to the Hiatt line. They also make the Blue Box and magnetic training keys. None of the Hiatt-Thompson products are discontinued. |
